In yoga sessions, we flow through many different techniques called asanas, kriyas, pranayamas – directly translated to mean yoga postures, dynamic movements and focused breathing exercises. Yoga sessions are modified to meet the needs of our students. Thus, you are welcome to come to any and all of our public yoga sessions.

Hatha Yoga classes are relaxation and wellness classes. This spiritual style of yoga is closely associated with ancient teachings referred to in yoga texts by the Sanskrit word ‘Advaita’. Advaita means non-duality. Non-duality means not separate. Not separate means there is only infinity. Infinity means that there is only love. Even when life seems like it can be harsh, there is love. Only an ego takes life personally, but, in Hatha Yoga, we make it our practice to feel how it feels to transcend the egoic identification with a fixated existence.

The ego will be a part of your life until your body is dead. What is beyond the movements of mind is the essential discovery of Hatha Yoga.

If you are reading these words you can rest assured that you are safe. The awareness of this is the truth of your own heart. During class you will be withdrawn from your every day life story to drop deeply inside your heart to meditate and ask the profound soul question “Who am I?” The asanas (yoga postures) in the practice are a celebration of health, a surrender of the mind to love and an expansion of consciousness through your cells. The breathing exercises, meditations and yoga postures are accessible to everyone regardless of age or size.

Kundalini Yoga is the most comprehensive of yoga traditions, combining meditation, mantra, physical exercises and breathing techniques. It is a Raja Yoga practice, encompassing the eight limbs of yoga into a singular practice of excellence and ecstasy.

“Kundalini” literally means “the curl of the lock of hair of the beloved.” This poetic metaphor alludes to the flow of energy and consciousness that exists within each of us, and enables us to merge with – or “yoke” with the creative energy of the universe.

For thousands of years, this sacred science and technology was veiled in secrecy, passed along verbally from master to chosen disciple. In the past 50 years the secrets were shared by a master named Yogi Bajan and thus the Kundalini Yoga revolution began.

Kundalini Yoga classes are formatted according to who is present. All levels of student are welcome.

Yoga (Kundalini) Dance is a meditation practice where you can heal through heart guided movements.

For students with previous dance experience it is an opportunity to go back to the basics. The movements are simple and structured at the beginning of the practice. As students calm the mind and unite the breath with the rhythmic movements of the body, the meditative practice sheds its structure. Effortlessly the conscious mind surrenders to the playful, interpretive and improvisational dance of the subconscious mind. Another way of understanding this – the brain becomes silent and the heart expands its light through every cell.

In Yoga Dance every person has an opportunity to experience the message of flowing grace radiating in all directions from the heart.

The teachings of Naked Yoga take their roots from ancient Tantric philosophy, which teaches and encourages us to be open and accepting of all feelings, forms and expressions of energy.

At the beginning of the class all students are clothed. The removal of layers of clothing flows naturally through guided meditation. In the act of removing our clothes we strip off a layer of protection and identity, so that we can meet each other on an even playing ground that celebrates our equality and our divine connection to each other beyond name and form.

Naked Yoga is non-sexual by nature, meaning that regardless of age, size, colour or sexuality, everyone is welcome in this class. This is a mind, body, spirit practice that has the potential to completely heal your life by opening your mind to the recognition of beauty everywhere. You are beautiful, inside and out. If there’s any doubt in your mind that this is true, have some courage and step on to the mat with us so you can discover that it is absolutely true.
